Having recognised the importance
and huge potential of the Chinese market, Chuan
Soon Huat Timber Industries (China) Co Ltd (CSH
China) was incorporated in 1993 as part of CSH’s
strategic plan to enter the Chinese market. CSH China
now serves as a production base for our Group apart
from the principal production base in Indonesia, as
well as CSH’s marketing and distribution arm
in China.
Situated in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province,
the factory at CSH China occupies a total land
area of 36,000mē with a built-in area of 38,000
m² and employs some 500 workers. It manufactures
a wide range of high quality timber doors, FSC-endorsed
doors and joinery products and supplies to both
the domestic and export markets. In line with CSH’s
pursuit of excellence in quality, CSH China is certified
under ISO9001 quality standard. The factory is also
certified to produce fire-rated entrance doors by
the Singapore PSB Corporation and the Chinese Fire
Safety Authority for the Singapore and China markets.
Besides its production function,
this subsidiary also undertakes the marketing
activities of the Chinese domestic market. It
operates through an extensive network of branch
offices and appointed agents in major cities
including Dalian, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and
Guangzhou. The customer base includes mainly
property developers and contractors. Over the years,
CSH China has gained recognition for the supply of
quality timber doors to prestigious projects across
China such as hotels, residential, commercial and
government buildings. In recent years, CSH China has
also started to tap the market potential offered by
the domestic retail segment through the
establishment of its network of specialised retail
outlets.
